Level II Musicianship Overview

Musicianship Level II Kodály Kaleidoscope covers the sequential use of materials in the development of sight-singing, analyzing, and improvising skills with diatonic materials. Skills include aural and written scales, intervals, chords and inversions, melodic and harmonic dictation, complex meters and rhythms, two-, three- and four-part singing, and canon singing. Seminar will review the sequence of music elements, exercises, and music literature as the framework for teaching and personal skill building.

*Presented materials:  Oxford Folk Song Sightsinging Series, Vol. VIII, XI; Molnár:  Classical Canons; Kodály:  Bicinia (appropriate level); other literature.

*Presented materials are taken from required textbooks for the full three-week levels training. Seminar packets will include samples of these materials.
