This Kodály Kaleidoscope will demonstrate the breadth of Kodály Level II Pedagogy in the Hungarian model of Katinka Dániel adapted to American and multicultural materials. Participants will experience the sequence of music elements and materials taught in Second to Fourth grades or higher, from simple to compound meters; all pentatones scales, chordal scales, and diatonic scales; rhythms of syncopation, dotted, 16ths, and diminished rhythms. Sequence and music materials will be demonstrated through active music-making demonstrations, songs, and games.

*Presented materials:  Katinka Dániel:  Kodály Approach, Level II and Level III Method Books; Transparencies, Workbook II, III.

*Presented materials are taken from required textbooks for the full three-week levels training. Seminar packets will include samples of these materials.
