Kodály Kaleidoscope for Level I Musicianship will present the musicianship materials and skills necessary for musicians and music teachers personally and in their teaching. Pentatonic singing with the use of the movable-do solfége syllables and Curwen hand signs will be used, including la-minor as practiced in Hungary. The sequence of material and music elements includes sight-singing, analyzing simple forms, improvising singing on solfége syllables, singing in duets, performing sing-and-play exercises through frequent class activities. Recommended for all musicians and teachers who wish to hone their skills in movable-do solfége.
*Presented materials: Kodály: 333 Elementary Exercises; Brocklehurst: Pentatonic Songbook
*Presented materials are taken from required textbooks for the full three-week levels training. Seminar packets will include samples of these materials.
